Dr. Shawn McCooleVeterinarian
Dr. Shawn McCoole graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinarian Medicine in 1991. He is a native of Atchison graduating from Atchison High School in 1984. Dr. McCoole practiced several years in both Kansas and Missouri before returning to Atchison in 1997. Dr. McCoole is licensed in both Kansas and Missouri. He enjoys a true mixed animal type of general practice, working on dogs, cats, cattle, horses and goats. Specialties include canine cranial cruciate rupture repair and equine artificial insemination.
Dr. Christine McCooleVeterinarian
Dr. Christine McCoole is a 1991 graduate of Kansas State University. She is a native of Hutchison, KS and spent the first 12 years in small animal practice in the Kansas City area. Dr. McCoole has specific interest in internal medicine, including endocrinology, dentistry, small animal reproduction and soft tissue surgery. Dr. McCoole has practiced full time in Atchison since 2004.

Julie grew up outside of Highland, Kansas and graduated from Colby Community College with a Vet Tech degree in 2016. When not at work she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. We are so very blessed she is here.
Amber HudsonKennel Manager/Technician
Amber is from Beaumont, Texas and graduated from Lincoln High Academy. She has her CDA and is currently working on her Veterinarian Assistant degree. Amber is a mother to two boys and has been married for 5 years. Amber is currently our Kennel Manager. She manages the boarding and the dog walkers. Amber also helps out as our Veterinarian Technician. She is a lover of all animals and has two dogs of her own. When she has a moment from her busy life she loves to relax and just hang out.
Cynthia "C.J" MooreReceptionist
CJ was born in Atchison, Kansas and graduated from Manhattan Academy in 2013. She is a mother of two and also has three dogs. With her free time she loves to craft and make blankets. CJ loves family outings and hopes to fulfill her career as a sonogram technician.
Barb has been active in the pet grooming industry since 1985. She owns one of the world's largest and oldest international websites for groomers, The Groomers Lounge at www.groomerslounge.com.
Believing in the importance of continuing education, Barb organizes, attends and teaches classes throughout the country on all aspects of the grooming industry. She has been interviewed by, and written articles for various trade magazines, been nominated for several Barkleigh Honors awards and won the prestigious David G. Salzberg Cardinal Crystal Achievement Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Grooming Industry in 2007. Her book, The Difficult Dog, was awarded the 2018 Barkleigh Honor Award for Book of the Year. She was also named as one of Pet Age's 2018 Women of Influence.
She is a member of the National Dog Groomers Association, certified in the Non Sporting and Terrier groups, a member of the Association of Holistic Pet Professionals and studying for Reiki I and II.
Her love of dogs extends to the community through her work with various rescue groups where she specializes in special needs foster and adoption.
She shares her home with 3 Standard Poodles, a Toy Poodle, and a Pug mix.
